(Dedicated to the memory of

NIKE ADESUYI-OJEIKERE

(Pioneer member, Women Writers Association of Nigeria, WRITA); and

FLORA NWAPA (Pioneer, African Women Literature)

 

Theme: TERROR OF KNOWLEDGE

The Book is a terrifying weapon against the forces of incapacity

 

[In line with our desire to showcase Girls and Women who have contributed to the promotion and growth of the Creative Arts in Nigeria; Crafts, Music, Dance, Drama, Poetry, Art, Music, Photography, Writing, and Reading; this year’s festival is dedicated to the memory of Nike Adesuyi-Ojeikere [Pioneer member, Women Writers Association of Nigeria, WRITA] and Flora Nwapa [Pioneer, African Women Literature]]

 

DAY 1 – FRI NOV 11: In Honour of NIKE ADESUYI-OJEIKERE

  3. 10AM -11AM The BOOK IN MY LIFE –SPECIAL GREEN GUEST: The multiple award-winning actress STEPHANIE LINUS mentors Children on her ‘Encounter with the BOOK’.
  4. 11.30AM -12.30PM TALKING BOOKS WITH CATE 1:

Readings & Discussions around: KING OF THE HEAP by Ayodele Olofintuade  JABARI: A Long way from Home by Uche Macauley [Pry 4-6] DILEMMA OF YOUTH & other Stories by Adedoyin Olusina [JSS1-SSS3]

YOUTHS, PARENTS & TEACHERS TALKSHOP: – “How To Bully-Proof Yourself 2”

Discussions and Debates on How To Prevent and Respond To Child Abuse. [Facilitated by Jabez Place]

The TALKSHOP marks the 2016 UN Universal Children’s Day, International Day for The Prevention of Child Abuse, 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, UNiTE to Stop Violence Against Women & Girls and Stop Rape in Conflict Campaigns.

Universal Children’s day is not simply a day to celebrate children for who they are, but to bring awareness to children around the globe that have succumbed to violence in forms of abuse, exploitation and discrimination.
